DuPont, Burlington, Cone Mills Corp. and Unifi Inc. all reported lackluster results for the second quarter of 2001...Charlotte, N.C.-based knit mill Dyersburg Corp. is liquidating its assets after declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year...Greensboro, N.C.-based textile mill Galey & Lord will close its apparel-production plants in Mexico as part of a restructuring effort that also includes shutting weaving and spinning facilities in Asheboro, N.C., and Caroleen, N.C., respectively, and eliminating approximately 5 percent of its workforce.
